Hello, neighbor. It's been awhile.
My last post was more than two years ago--January 7, 2019. In spite of the usual new year good intentions back then, time got away from me. In other words, I procrastinated like a champion. A procrastination champion, to be clear.
And of course, you all know what went down in 2020. I certainly had plenty of quarantine time to write, but the vibe was all wrong. I didn't want to pile on to the daily heap of anxiety, frustration, grief, and outrage. Nor did it feel right to write in my typical Pollyanna/ sarcastic/ privileged perspective way when people were mostly struggling.
But I'm back, with a new attitude and a goal of writing one blog post a month. Note the date of this, my first 2021 post, is January 31, confirming that I'm still a champion. Again, to be clear, a procrastination champion.
What will I write about this year? That's a harder question to answer than "what should we have for dinner." (Oh man, do I hate that question.) My aim is for words that help people, motivate people, teach people. New ideas. Creative practices. Artistic challenges. Small changes.
I'm kinda looking forward to February. Only 28 days. Let the procrastination begin.
